Summary

Palm/MTX_II.A is a 'greeting card' Palm application dropped by MTX_II.A Windows virus. The Palm application itself is not malicious but it is dropped as a payload of MTX_II.A.

Removal

Based on the settings of your F-Secure security product, it will either move the file to the quarantine where it cannot spread or cause harm, or remove it.

A False Positive is when a file is incorrectly detected as harmful, usually because its code or behavior resembles known harmful programs. A False Positive will usually be fixed in a subsequent database update without any action needed on your part. If you wish, you may also:

  • Check for the latest database updates

Technical Details

Upon execution the Palm/MTX_II.A displays a following dialog containing greetings to other virus writers.

When user clicks ok button of the dialog the application displays a animation of random rectangles that resembles game of life.

Palm/MTX_II.A is not a virus and it does not no anything malicous to other palm applications or data. But as it is installed into Palm device without user permission it is treated as a trojan, and detected by F-Secure Anti-Virus and F-Secure Anti-Virus for Palm OS.
